Who We Are
Hives for Heroes® is a national non-profit service organization focusing on honey bee conservation and providing a healthy transition from service. Through our national network of beekeepers we provide connection, purpose, and healthy relationships, through access, resources, and funding for Military, Veterans, and First Responders.
Our Vision
At Hives for Heroes®, we lead the way in both conservation and the transition from military and first responder service. Our vision is to empower our nations heroes with the skills and knowledge to become proficient beekeepers while contributing to the preservation of the planet's most essential pollinators. Through this mission, we seek to build a community that honors and supports our heroes, fostering a sense of purpose, pride, and belonging as they transition to civilian life.

Testimonies

Mentor
Hives for Heroes is an amazingly informative program and it gave me the confidence to turn my curiosity of beekeeping into practice. I highly recommend veterans looking to begin a journey as a beekeeper to take advantage of Hives for Heroes.

NewBee
We have known the difficulties of tasked separation and PTSD, overseas assignments, and the loss of community on retirement. Bees have a social order, a community that helps with many, many issues. I started my bee journey eight years ago and never looked back.

Mentor
I learned beekeeping as a kid and today I show others the wonders of the hive. The importance of the bees, how to keep them and raise them sustainably. I'm a simple beekeeper that enjoys seeing others succeed in life. You see we all battle our own demons, some shut them in, others let them out, but we all have them. I'm not sure what it is about these little insects but they calm restless and wandering souls.
